Aruna Mannie - Secondment Corporate (IR)

Aruna started her corporate secondment role in Investor Relations at the end of 2021. This was following two years as Exploration Manager for our Mexico operations and prior to that three years as a Senior Geoscientist in the New Ventures team.

In her role, as Exploration Manager for Mexico she was responsible for expanding, optimising and operating our Mexico acreage portfolio, proving reserves to build material value for the company.

Her team were responsible for maximising the commercial value across the portfolio, covering the full lifecycle of an exploration project from bid round block screening to prospect evaluation and well planning.

'I provided the leadership, development and support for us to carry out well-executed, coherent strategies for our Mexico operations, based on the formulation and implementation of exploration plans, work programmes and budgets for capital expenditure,' she explains.

She was also responsible for influencing and managing joint venture relations and external stakeholders ensuring alignment and compliance in a fledgling regulatory environment. This involves interfacing with governmental agencies, subsurface, drilling, facilities, HSE, finance, commercial, legal and other functional support to ensure compliance with license terms and commitments together with safe and efficient operations.

She says: 'In Mexico, we bid for acreage in 2015 when the country initially opened for foreign investment and we had our first well and discovery drilled by 2017. The agile yet technically-thorough decision-making approach that we went through has been key to securing an early position and gaining first mover advantage. At its core, we rely on rapid assimilation of a range of information from a variety of multi-disciplinary sources when determining hydrocarbon potential in a new play.'

For Aruna, Harbour Energy represents a stimulating and meritocratic modern workplace where driven personnel have opportunities to develop their career and are motivated to make a difference in the demanding oil and gas industry.

Aruna has a PhD from Imperial College London, is a Chartered (CGeol) Geologist by the Geological Society of London and her executive education was at the London Business School.
