Buzzard

11 kboepd (2023 production)
21.7% non-operated

Buzzard production averaged 11 kboepd net to Harbour (2022: 15 kboepd). Lower production was driven by natural decline compounded by extended shutdowns within the year. In 2024, natural decline will be partially offset by the two new North Terrace manifold wells, expected online in the first quarter of the year.

Located in the Outer Moray Firth, about 100 kilometres (62 miles) north-east of Aberdeen, the Buzzard field is one of the largest producing fields in the UK Continental Shelf. It sits in approximately 96 metres of water and came onstream in 2007.

The Buzzard field straddles two licences P986 (Blocks 19/10 and 20/6) and P928 (blocks 19/5a and 20/1S). The facilities comprise four bridge-linked steel platforms, which support wellhead and production facilities, utilities/living quarters, and a further Hydrogen Sulphide stripping platform.

Oil is exported from Buzzard via the Forties Pipeline System (FPS) to Cruden Bay and then onto Hound Point. Surplus gas is exported via the Frigg system to the St Fergus Gas Terminal.
